Emma Stout BA Complementary Healthcare

I have had a life long interest in Complementary Therapies and I am passionate about bringing the benefits of these therapies to the wider community. I  have worked with a variety of people including those experiencing stress, office workers, elderly people to those living with Multiple Sclerosis and other health conditions.

My life transformed in 2001 when I began practising Reiki and experienced profound healing benefits within myself and others. This led me to take my studies further and I have explored a variety of western scientific and eastern healing practices including:  Usui Japanese and Tibetan Reiki, Traditional Chinese and Western Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, Sound Therapy and Shamanism.

I have a Professional Holistic Approach to treatment and work by combining my knowledge and experience to ensure that each treatment is as individual as you are.

Qualifications:

HND Sports Therapy: I qualified in 2007 from Edinburgh’s Telford College. This course included Swedish & Sports Massage, sports injuries, first aid, fitness assessment, exercise programming, nutrition, diet and weight control and sports related nutrition.

BA Complementary Healthcare/ Reflexology: After working as a massage therapist for a while, I became curious in the eastern teachings again and decided to study Complementary Healthcare specialising in Reflexology at Edinburgh Napier University. This course included the Chinese philosophies of 5 element theory, yin yang and meridian theory as well as the western approaches to Reflexology. I qualified in 2010.

Other certificates include: Massage in Pregnancy, Reiki Master Teacher and I have also had teachings in Indian Head Massage.

I am a registered member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists which requires that I keep up to date with continuous professional development and this has included taking part in workshops such as Advanced Remedial Massage. I continue to study and grow as a practitioner;  keeping up with modern day advances as well as bringing back ancient healing techniques.
